Farmer and video blogger Pavel Postevoy walks hundreds of geese in his village of Atamanskaya, Krasnodar Krai, on a daily basis in an impressive show of skills towards the handling of the animals, as seen on Monday.

“When a chick has just hatched, the first person that it sees and the first voice it hears, it remembers both the voice of the parent and the image of the parent,” explained Postevoy.

“And therefore, up to a month, up to two months, your voice will be perfectly distinguished from others and they will go after it,” added Postevoy, who has been farming the animals since his teenage years.

Postevoy has run the farm by himself for nine years, having formally registered it in December of 2012.

“They (geese) react to any rustle, they are very sensitive, but they are also very naughty, as it’s said here in Kuban, because if you suddenly forget a car’s trailer or a tractor, or something else, they will gnaw the wiring completely overnight”, said Postevoy.

“They (geese) will dishevel absolutely everything that is possible. They will eat your fence, if it is wooden, that is, that’s all that can be eaten, they will eat it,” added Postevoy.

The farmer occasionally posts videos on his poultry on the YouTube video streaming service under the channel name ‘Goose Yard.’ Since starting his account in 2010, the channel has attracted over 3.6 million views in total and over 30,000 subscribers.

SOT, Pavel Postevoy, Farmer (Russian): “We have a peasant farm status. Well, I mean, not us - me. It’s, you know, ‘I play by myself, I sing by myself, I sell tickets by myself.’ Our peasant farm is engaged in the production of young animals daily . This is the parent stock that you see.”

SOT, Pavel Postevoy, Farmer (Russian): “This goose breeding business has been around a very long time, I took this up when I was still 14 to 15 years old, probably. And having a peasant farm status, I registered the farm in December 2012, that is, for nine years now it has had a peasant-farm status.”
