On 29 December 2021, NPO Energomash performed the first hot fire test of the RD-0146D1 rocket engine. RD-0146D1 (РД-0146Д1) is a cryogenic oxygen-hydrogen rocket engine designed to be used in the KVTK (КВТК) upper stage of the Angara-A5 (Ангара-А5) launch vehicle. According to Roscosmos, RD-0146D1 generates a thrust of 9 tons.
