A Soyuz-U launch vehicle launched the Soyuz TM-32 crewed spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, on 28 April 2001, at 07:37 UTC. About 10 minutes later, Dennis Anthony Tito became the world’s first space tourist, passing the Kármán line (100 kilometers; 62 miles) and entering on a low Earth orbit together with cosmonauts Talgat Musabayev and Yuri Baturin. On 30 April 2001, at 07:58 UTC, Soyuz TM-32 docked with the International Space Station and the spacecraft’s crew joined the station’s crew. Dennis Tito spent nearly 8 days in space, returning to Earth onboard the Soyuz TM-31 spacecraft, on 6 May 2001, at 05:41 UTC.
