This family of Asian buffalo has been on quite a journey.

During peacetime, Feldman Ecopark was one of the most popular attractions in the Kharkov region.

Home to some 5,000 animals, the zoo had no entrance fee, and free buses ferried visitors to the gates from the nearby city centre.

But out of the horror came a miracle: these buffaloes that escaped the zoo in the early days of the war have come back home… and they didn’t return alone.
