Story of a min pin chihuahua mix dog - Otto

Otto is a one and a half year min pin chihuahua mix born in Southern Illinois. He was less than a pound with backwards front paws. Are you telling us to stop?

My friend, Cynthia, rescued him and he went to his first foster for around the clock care. He then proceeded to make his way to his second foster my dear friend Melissa. I saw Otto on her Instagram and was immediately mesmerized by this tiny warrior. My family had just suffered an unexpected loss and we were in deep grief.  Melissa suggested we adopt Otto since he helped her get through a significant loss as well. 

We met him and it was pure magic. He was bossy and sassy and loving. He didn’t seem to care. His paws were backwards or he was topping out at one-and-a-half pounds. He saw multiple specialists and fixing the paws just wasn’t an option. He was being treated by a mobile vet for a small issue he was having, and she performed blood work and diagnosed Otto with mucopolysaccharidosis or MPS for short. It’s an extremely rare genetic disorder. He has now lost his ability to walk, but that doesn’t slow him down. He now bosses everyone from his blue stroller. People cannot help but smile when they see Otto. He is magic to the soul. He has taught our family so much, that size doesn’t mean anything, it is how big your soul roars that counts.
