Ribbons of snow have made their way into northeast Ohio, causing congestion and multiple traffic accidents throughout the region.
A snow emergency has been called in Ashtabula County as the first winter storm hit northeast Ohio.

The Ohio Department of Transportation has reported numerous crashes and slowdowns in and out of the Cleveland area, especially on I-90 east due to slippery weather.

The National Weather Service, which issued a weather warning , also said windy weather is expected as gusts could reach 45 mph.

“Traveling can be very difficult,” the National Weather Service says. “A non-uniform blizzard can significantly impair visibility.

However, on a much larger scale, the people of Buffalo, New York, are bracing for a massive snowstorm that could hit several feet.

People are asked to take precautions before leaving the house.
Several northern counties, including Cuyahoga, Lake, Geoga and Ashtabula counties, were under a snowfall warning due to the lake effect, according to the National Weather Service.
