‘Toxic Gas Explosion Killing 13 Caught On CCTV’

A poisonous chlorine gas explosion has killed over a dozen people and injured two hundred and fifty more, in Aqaba port in Jordan.

The moment a storage tank slammed onto the deck of the ship was caught on CCTV.

According to state TV reports, officials have advised citizens in Aqaba to stay indoors and close the windows. The Civil Defence service has said that planes were being sent to evacuate people from Aqaba, and specialised teams had been scrambled to deal with the gas.

Jordan’s Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh has commissioned an official investigation into the cause of the accident.
