Thousands of fans showed up to greet Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo at Dubai’s 2020 Expo on Friday.

Ronaldo took photos with fans following an interview at the Al Wasl Plaza. He said he was surprised by the number of people wanting to see him. “I didn’t expect it to be honest, so this is, you guys are my motivation to carry on and play football because, without you guys, the football will be less,” Manchester United’s superstar said.

The 2020 Expo is taking place in Dubai from 1st October 2021 to the 31st March 2022 after being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
