UAE: Dubai Airshow 2021 opens with spectacular aerobatic flyover

Dubai Airshow 2021 began at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai on Sunday with an opening ceremony marked by aerobatic performances and flight demonstrations.

On its opening day, thousands of visitors flocked to the airshow, touted as the first major global aerospace exhibition held since the start of the pandemic, counting more than 1,200 exhibitors.

Over 160 aircraft, including the latest Boeing 777x, Bombardier’s Global 7500, and Russia’s new fighter jet ‘Checkmate,’ are on display in the 17th edition of the Dubai Airshow.

“Greatest airshow in the region,” said visitor Omar Mohammed, adding, “It is a chance to see what is new in the aviation sector.”

Dubai Airshow 2021 is set to welcome more than 85,000 visitors until its end date on Thursday, November 18.
