Rafael Advanced Defence Systems, a defence technology firm funded by the Israeli government, presented multiple new technologies at the Dubai Air Show, on Monday.
It is the first time Israeli firms have been represented at the show since the normalisation of relations between the two nations last year.
“There is a lot of interest after the Abraham agreement, the peace agreement with a few of the counties. They are coming. They are visiting, we are in deep negotiations about several systems,” said Shachar Shohat, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Rafael.
Dubai’s biennial air show opened on Sunday, with many defence and aviation companies from around the world presenting.

It is the first we are performing here at the Dubai Air Show. We brought a variety of systems here to the demonstration, as you see [to] the back of me is our Drone Dome system. This is a system that has already sold in a few countries all over the world.“
SOT, Shachar Shohat, Vice President Strategy and Business Development at Rafael Advanced Defense Systems: “And we are very proud to present it here in the Dubai Air Show 2021, hopefully and there is a lot of potential customers here from the area that are very interested in this system and we all hope that it will [even make] a bridge between the nations.”
SOT, Shachar Shohat, Vice President Strategy and Business Development at Rafael Advanced Defense Systems: “There is a lot of interest after the Abraham agreement, the peace agreement, with a few of the countries, they are coming they are visiting, we are in deep negotiations about several systems. It’s not only about to come and look but to come and purchase, and I cannot get into the details of a specific client, but there is a lot of interest and we are looking for good business here in the arena.”
SOT, Shachar Shohat, Vice President Strategy and Business Development at Rafael Advanced Defense Systems: “Basically, the capability of [integrating] any sensor and any shooter into this open architecture system and especially our capability to track accurately, on manoeuvered target[s], and the pinpoint the laser beam in a dimensions of one dime, on the drone, and specifically hit the rotor, or the camera, or the explosive. I think that this is our key capability that Rafael brings into the market and into the arena.
