UEFA’s President Aleksander Ceferin admitted that the second draw of the Champions League was ‘UEFA’s fault’ caused by ‘technological errors,’ speaking in Nyon on Thursday.

“What we learn from this situation because objectively it is UEFA’s fault. Although it was software, we have to understand that we should not be so dependent on technology,” said Ceferin.

“We will inform the public soon about other measures, and of course, we are sorry that it happened, and we apologise to everyone.”

He also urged players in UEFA to get vaccinated but said it was to remain a personal choice, for the time being, casting doubt on the mandatory vaccination mandate.

“I believe in science, and I got vaccinated,” said Ceferin.

His comments came as several COVID-19 outbreaks have been reported in clubs around Europe, forcing games to be postponed.
