UK: Barclays Bank CEO quits over Epstein investigation

The CEO of Barclays, one of the UK’s biggest banks as well as being among the world’s biggest, stood down on Monday, after investigators said his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were ‘closer than first thought.’
US banker Jes Staley aged 64, sent shockwaves around the financial hub of the City of London with his resignation following the conclusion of a probe into the nature and closeness of his relationship with the dead scandal-ridden financier.
Staley left his position after it was found there were inconsistencies in his version of events and emails sent between the pair which indicated a closer relationship than first thought.
