UK: Manchester Utd fans protest Glazer family, club manager at Old Trafford

A small group of Manchester United fans protested in front of the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester on Saturday, in opposition to the club’s owners and its manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Several dozen fans chanted slogans and sported banners with slogans denouncing the Glazer family and reading ‘Enough is enough!’, among other slogans. A store selling club merchandise had to be closed reportedly due to protesters lighting flares.

The protest came after United, along with Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham joined together with some of Europe’s other clubs to try and form a breakaway European Super League.

“Just here to get the Glazers out of the club, they’re destroying the club, it’s just a cash cows to the Glazers. I’ve supported the club for 45 years and I can just see it deteriorating and I’ve had enough of it,“ said one supporter.

He added that, in his opinion, “it’s not Solskjaer’s fault it’s the Glaziers for not being strong enough to move him on.” Another fan echoed his opposition to the club’s current manager, Ole Gunnar, saying “We want the Glazers out, we want Ole out because he’s not won us anything for five years now, it’s just ruining the club.”

Man Utd lost two goals to nil against local rivals Manchester City in their last outting, heaping further pressure on the manager.

SOT, fan (English): “We want this club to run like a Liverpool football club where’s there is football people in buying the right players and better management we need. We love Ole but he’s not good enough for this job and it’s time for him to move on, get better coaching staff get better management.”
