Footage published by Mariupol City Council on Wednesday shows signs of severe devastation around a maternity and children’s hospital located in the city of Mariupol, Donbass region, Ukraine.

Images appear to show wounded people being evacuated from the premises. According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the regional administration, the damages were caused by Russian shelling.

The regional authorities claimed that 17 people were injured in the incident and that there weren’t any deaths, and no confirmed injuries among children.

On March 5 the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that Ukrainian militants are using hospitals to fire at Russian troops. The Russian Defence Ministry repeatedly said that its forces only target military infrastructure in Ukraine.
