‘Ukraine on the Ground: Humanitarian Impact of Russian Invasion’

Ukrainians across the country are fleeing their homes since Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on the country. Those who are staying put, have sought refuge in Metro stations and bomb shelters.

Ukraine now faces the might of Europe’s largest army, and in response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked for all citizens prepared to defend the country to come forward.

The West has said they will respond to the Russian invasion with economic and military support, as well as sanctions. But, with reports of casualties coming in thick and fast, the death toll continues to rise, with every moment spent attempting to find a diplomatic solution.
