Thousands of people hid in monasteries, pagodas and schools seeking shelter from a powerful storm that hit the coast of Myanmar and southeast Bangladesh on Sunday.

This cyclone could cause sea levels to rise up to 4 meters, which could affect more than 2 million people directly in its path.

When Cyclone Mocha made landfall, it uprooted trees, scattered ramshackle houses in the Rohingya displaced persons camps in Bangladesh and caused a storm surge in low-lying areas.
