Streets turn into rivers in the town of Caccamo, province of Palermo, on the Italian island of Sicily
Floods and rains killed at least 10 people overnight
At least 10 people have died in flash floods in the Italian region, authorities said.
Torrential rain that fell late in the evening caused rivers and streams to overflow and flood coastal towns around the regional capital of Ancona.
About 400 mm of precipitation was recorded in just a few hours - half a year’s worth.
Rescuers are still searching for four others, including a child who was separated when the river overflowed its banks.
“It was like an earthquake.” said the local mayor

According to one local report, a mother who managed to escape from her car with a child in her arms was separated from him after being flooded when the Misa River burst its banks.

Emergency workers rescued the woman overnight, but her six-year-old child is one of several missing

In addition to the 10 dead, Italian newspapers report that around 50 people are being treated in hospitals for hypothermia and other injuries sustained as a result of the flooding.
More than 180 firefighters are helping with rescue operations, evacuating people who were forced to climb trees or onto roofs overnight to escape the rising waters.
Some rescuers used boats and helicopters to reach trapped families, footage shows
