The Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping / NOAA-UNH Joint Hydrographic Center’s Uncrewed Surface Vehicle DriX is back for our third iteration of the Ocean Exploration Cooperative Institute (OECI) technology collaboration! DriX is one of three key pieces of ocean exploration technology hosted by E/V Nautilus on the NA155 expedition, and it returns this season with new systems upgrading its collaborative exploration power.

This multi-vehicle mission is made possible largely due to upgrades that now allow DriX to relay over-the-horizon communication, to map with a multibeam suited for deeper waters, and to interface via more robust communication technology with autonomous vehicles such as HROV Mesobot and the DAP Lander.
