USA: Biden makes sign of the cross while mentioning Trump during speech in California

US President Joe Biden jokingly made the sign of the cross when he mentioned Donald Trump at a campaigning event for California Governor Gavin Newsom in Long Beach on Monday.

“All of you know last year I got to run against the real Donald Trump,” said Biden as he performed the gesture. “Well, this year, the leading Republican running for governor is the closest thing to a Trump clone that I have ever seen in your state.”

In his speech, Biden compared conservative talk radio host Larry Elder to his own opponent in the presidential race of 2020, former President Donald Trump. “He is the clone of Donald Trump. Can you imagine him being governor of this state? You can’t let that happen,” he continued.

Top Democratic leaders are currently rallying behind Governor Newsom to support him in his campaign against a recall effort that could lead to Larry Elder replacing him.
