Mandatory credit: The White House

US President Joe Biden signed a landmark $1,2 trillion infrastructure measure into law, surrounded by both Democrats and Republicans on Monday in Washington DC.
“The bill I’m about to sign into law is proof that despite the cynics, Democrats and Republicans can come together and deliver results. We can do this. We can deliver real results for real people we see in ways that matter each and every day,” Biden said, speaking from the White House.
The legislation aims to improve the country’s roads, bridges, ports and power lines, being one of the most significant government investments of the kind since the creation of the national highways in the 1950s.
“We’re taking a monumental step forward to build back better as a nation,” continued the US President after thanking his White House team, including Pelosi.
The signing comes amid Biden facing declining poll numbers ahead of next year’s midterm elections and with the recent gubernatorial loss for Democrats in Virginia
