Facebook’s signature thumbs-up sign was seen being replaced with a banner showing a new logo resembling an infinity symbol, Menlo Park, San Francisco Bay Area, Thursday. The unveiling came after the announcement that the company changed its name to Meta.
Some reacted to the change unenthusiastically, saying that it wouldn’t change much, while others added that since Facebook has been a brand it might take some getting used to Meta.
According to company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the name change came since the company was not just a social media giant, but it ‘builds technology to connect people and the metaverse is the next frontier.’
