New Yorkers were spotted enjoying the snow-covered slopes and roads of Central Park after Winter Storm Kenan battered the East Coast on the weekend, as seen on Sunday.

Children and adults made the best of the 8.3 inches (21 cm) of snow that fell in Central Park to sleight down the hills, jog through the streets and observe the frozen lake.

“This is the good part. In fact, I ran to Central Park this morning, so I could enjoy this. It’s just so beautiful. It’s quiet, it’s peaceful. The lake has thick ice. It’s wonderful,” explained Andrew, a Big Apple local.

Weather Service issued a storm warning for the area and Southern New York State on Friday, with the city facing anywhere from 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 cm) of snow during the day.
