Niagara Falls shops prepared to receive visitors, Sunday, as foot traffic at the Canadian border is set to resume on Monday after 20 months of border closure.
Travellers will be allowed to enter the US through land crossings and ferry terminals with proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.
“There is a lot of tourist trade in Toronto and various places near Toronto and Niagara Falls and will be nice for those places to have some business, but I don’t know how fast will pick up. It’s risky to go across the border right now,” a local said.
“Traffic and activity is always good for business. More traffic back and forth is better for business for everyone,” another added.
Niagara Falls relies on tourism along with people from Canada coming over to shop as a big part of its economy.
