Former Donald Trump ally Roger Stone arrived at the Thomas P. O’Neill federal building in Washington DC, on Friday, to meet the US House Select Committee investigating the January 6 riots at the US Capitol.

Stone’s attorney informed the special committee that his client would plead the Fifth Amendment of the United States Constitution pertaining to protection against self-incrimination during the deposition.

“I did invoke my Fifth Amendment right to every question not because I have done anything wrong but because I am fully aware of the house Democrats long history of fabricating perjury on the basis of comments that are innocuous in material or irrelevant,” Stone confirmed after the hearing, adding that he questions “the legitimacy of this inquiry.”

He has denied any involvement in the January 6 riot.
