USA: Supporters demand 'Justice for Jason Walker' at tribute after fatal police shooting

Dozens of mourners attended a ‘Justice for Jason Walker’ event outside Fayetteville courthouse on Friday. Walker was a 37-year-old who was recently shot and killed by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeffrey Hash, who told authorities he shot in an act of self-defence.

Attendees began the event by listening to speakers outside the courthouse, before marching through the city before once again returning to the courthouse. The group remained outside offering tributes to Walker until dark.

“When are they gonna start holding these cops accountable? There’s a pandemic called COVID, but there is also a pandemic of ungodly people that are behind this badge. I swear to you, you have to speak and fight,” exclaimed a speaker at the tribute.

There was no police presence nor were any incidents reported throughout the tribute.
