Students received pastoral care and counselling in Mansfield Timberview High School in Texas on Thursday following Wednesday’s shooting.

Eighteen-year-old Timothy George Simpkins has been named as the shooter. Shots were fired after a fight broke out between Simpkins and another student. Four were injured, with two receiving care for gunshot wounds. Those with gunshot wounds were a 25-year old teacher who is in good condition and a 15-year old student in hospital in critical condition.

Eban Connor the Pastor at Word of Faith Church which provides its services to the school discussed the situation and the care being delivered. “It’s a traumatic thing for the students, for teachers. One of the members of my church is actually one of the counsellors counselling today, but she was physically at the school when it happened as well.” the Pastor said.

“We’re here as a support to not only the community to the staff to the students but also to help facilitate the healing process. And that’s what we’re here to do,” Connor stressed.

Timothy George Simpkins is currently being held in jail on a $75,000 bond.
