Unbeaten Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and his upcoming opponent, the Mexican boxer Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz gave a press conference on Thursday ahead of the fight at the weekend which will take place at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

Davis has had a stellar career so far, winning all 25 of his professional fights, 24 of which came by knockout. Cruz has so far won 22 out of his 24 professional fights, losing one and drawing one.

“He’s saying I haven’t faced someone like him, but he’s never faced anyone like me either. This is all different, you know, once you get hit in the face,” stated Davis during the presser.

“Because I have a dream since childhood, and that is to become world champion, to give Mexico another world champion. Moreover, it is the hunger and the motivation I have to bring forward my wife and my son,” responded Cruz shortly after.

“Gervonta is a very strong fighter. I consider him to be the best in the division, but he’s not impossible to beat,” Cruz went on to say.

Gervonta, who has become somewhat the protege to Floyd Mayweather, who was also in attendance at the presser, is ranked as the world’s fourth-best active super lightweight.
