USPS mail carrier builds cardboard shelter for stray cat

Jackson, an eight-year-old, now former stray cat came to the Animal Rescue League of Boston in early December, following an incredible act of kindness.

An anonymous United States Postal Service mail carrier had noticed Jackson during their appointed rounds in Cambridge, Massachusetts. And showing great compassion for this animal, they had not only been feeding the friendly stray but also built the cat a shelter out of cardboard to help shield him from the elements. However, as winter began to grip the Boston area, the mail carrier grew concerned about Jackson’s ability to survive another harsh winter and contacted the Animal Rescue League of Boston for assistance.

Jackson was brought to ARLs Boston animal care and adoption center, and a thorough medical exam revealed severe dental disease to the point that all but one of his canines were cracked down to the root, which was no doubt causing him pain. The shelter medicine staff performed an extensive dental procedure extracting ten of his teeth. And after a short recovery Jackson, now named Teddy, found his forever home. and is thoroughly enjoying his new surroundings.
