The first images and data from the James Webb Space Telescope were released on 12 July 2022 and include the Carina Nebula, spectrum of the WASP-96 b exoplanet, the Southern Ring Nebula, the compact galaxy group Stephan’s Quintet and the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723.
