We’re all going to dieeeeee! The CDC now says that much of the progress in life expectancy was wiped out during the pandemic. With overall expectancy sitting at 79 years in 2019, falling to 77 the next year, then slumping to 76 the year after that.
Marking the largest drop in two years since the early 1920s. And this largely driven by the pandemic, as well as more drug overdoses and deaths from other health issues. But some demographics were hit harder than others. Like American Indians and Alaska Natives, whose life expectancy plummeted a whopping 6.6 years to just 65, lower than any other country in the Americas except Haiti. Also you had blacks and hispanics dropping especially far in 2020, with whites falling the least. But shockingly in 2021, white life expectancy actually fell more than those non-whites, probably because they refused to get vaccinated or wear masks.So now you can take all this info, go to the rooftops and scream …
