Story of Willow the beautiful cat

I’m a special education teacher and I visit my children at their houses. When I was leaving one of my kids’ houses one day, I saw this teeny little kitten on a doorstep and I just said, “hi, little kitten.” It followed me all the way to my car. She was dirty, had fleas, bloody nose, eye infections, she weighed 10 ounces. [I] took her to the vet. The vet said she seemed healthy, other than her face looking kind of funny. She said don’t take her to the shelter because if I did, they’d probably put her down because of the way she looked. Most people want the beautiful cats. They don’t want the funny looking cats or cats with special needs. 

She actually doesn’t really have any special needs. She has a little trouble breathing sometimes because she only breathe out of one side of her nose. So she’s definitely a rescue success story. Even though I wasn’t looking for a cat, she found me, she kinda came out of nowhere. There were no other kittens, no mama cat, nothing. The area where I found her has a lot of feral cats, a lot of animals that are dropped off. So probably that’s why she was left there. We don’t know if she was abandoned by her mom probably cause she had some problems feeding, who knows.

She’s a great little cat and I’m so glad that I kept her. She loves to play with pipe cleaners. She loves to play with our dog. I named her Willow because I found her on Willow Avenue in Tampa, Florida. I gave her the name Willow The Beautiful Cat because when I first found her, everyone told me she was ugly. So I decided to name her the beautiful cat to be a little play on words and to prove everybody wrong 
and I think that we have.
