Here’s Buddy’s story from his rescuer:

I am a permitted wildlife rehabber who rescued Buddy from an apartment complex after being alone for four days. The tenants were afraid of him and sprayed him with bug spray. Now, remember he was only eight or nine weeks old, so still a baby. Since then, he’s been diagnosed with cerebellar hypoplasia.

Cats get this, it’s known as wobbly kitten syndrome. Mom will transfer a disease to them, which damages the cerebellar part of the brain. We have been doing therapy with buddy. We do this daily and even with his disability, he remains happy. 

He has such an expressive face and bring such happiness to others. His therapy will continue in the hopes that one day he will walk. He will stay here with us for the remainder of his life and be a part of our family. We are hoping his story brings awareness to people that raccoons are not evil.
