Yemen: Thousands rally in Sana'a to denounce US involvement in the war

Thousands of protesters gathered in Sana’a on Monday to denounce the ‘US-backed siege and military escalation’ in Yemen.

Protesters could be seen holding banners and chanting anti-American slogans during the rally that was held under the motto ‘America is behind the military and economic escalation, the continuation of the aggression and the siege on Yemen.’

The rally comes as the forces loyal to the Saudi-backed Yemen government announce a large-scale offensive on Houthi forces in western Yemen.

SOT, Abu Ahmed al-Jarmouzi, Protester (Arabic): “We are here today to deliver a message to the aggressor alliance countries and say that the Yemeni people are holding on for the 7th year with steadfastness and pride.”

SOT, Saeed Ali, Protester (Arabic): “We went out today to confirm that America and its tails are the ones behind the aggression [in Yemen], and that they are still seeking, until today, military escalation and economic escalation and the imposition of a siege on the Yemeni people.”

The conflict in Yemen between the Saudi-backed government, local factions backed by the UAE and the Houthi “Ansar Allah” movement allied with Iran, along with the intervention of other international parties, led to what the United Nations has described as the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.
