An 8K laser TV-cinema projector was presented by the Chinese company Hisense, at CES 2022 in Las Vegas on Thursday.

The product, which according to Chris Miller, HISENSE’s USA product manager, is the “world’s first 8K laser cinema projector,” aims to bring the movie theater experience to the home.

Attendees were impressed with the laser TV, with some of them even trying to touch the projection to see if there was a screen behind it such was its sharpness.

At the moment HISENSE has not yet revealed the release date and the price of its 8K projector.

SOT, Chris Miller, Hisense USA, Product manager for Laser TV: “Here at CES 2022, we’re super excited to introduce a world’s first 8K laser cinema projector, this is using a 4K DLP chip that we custom designed with Texas Instruments and using a four phase shift to resolve an 8k resolution picture, it’s a world first and we are super excited to have it here at CES 2022.”

SOT, Cecilia, Attendee: “This 8K TV is amazing, it looks exactly like a TV, I even stuck my hand up there to make sure that it wasn’t a TV and it’s not, the image is crystal clear and it almost as if you’re there in that picture because it is so crystal clear, it’s a real life image, so it’s a pretty awesome technology.”

SOT, Michael, Attendee: “I’m very impressed with how bright the laser projector is, it’s really the brightest highest resolution projection TV I’ve ever seen, very impressive, I wish there was more 8K content, but its really incredible progress that’s been made.”
