View from JR West series 221 rapid service from Maibara to Aboshi. Ser. 221 was the first manufactured commuter train by JR West and used as Special Rapid "Shin-Kaisoku" at JR Kyoto and JR Kobe lines. The train has large windows on the head and side for a good sight, which implies customer-intimacy at the time of privatization of JNR. Recently successors series 223 and 225 have largely been manufactured, ser. 221 has been used as rapid service and is to step down from JR Kyoto and Kobe lines soon.
