10. Jumeirah Sceirah – Dubai, Lebanon
Our first slide comes from the Wild Wadi Waterpark in Dubai, Lebanon, where you start off with a fall at 80 degrees from a tube that drops from under your feet. Riders will go down the slide at about 80 kilometers an hour, reaching the end of the ride in seconds, after the last fall.
9. Summit Plummet – Orlando, United States
This water slide, found at Disney World, Florida, was built purely for those adrenaline junkies. Going down a very steep slope, you’ll be able to reach speeds of up to 100 kilometers an hour, which let’s be honest, is terrifyingly fast.
8. Twister - Lutzmannsburg, Austria
Located at the Sonnentherme indoor waterpark in Austria, Twister is the longest waterslide in Europe, at 660ft long. It starts in absolute darkness leading into constant twists and turns.
7. Verrückt - Kansas City, United States
In late 2012, the Schlitterbahn Kansas City water park had plans to build the tallest and fastest waterslide in the world; and they were successful with a top speed of 110 kilometers an hour and a height of 168 ft.
Unfortunately, in August of 2016, the decapitation of a 10 year old boy and severe injuries to two other women, caused the ride to permanently shut down.
6. Kilimanjaro - Volta Redonda, Brazil
Now that Verruckt is out of the picture, Kilimanjaro is now the tallest waterslide in the world, once again, at a height of 164ft. This also makes it the tallest freefall body slide.
5. Black Hole - Bremerhaven, Germany
This was one I really wanted to include. Found in Germany, there isn’t anything “INSANE” about the Black Hole and it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but wait. Once you’re on the inside, it looks phenomenal. The many varieties in light formations and colors will trip you out and have you coming back for more.
4. Scorpion’s Tail – Wisconsin Dells, United States
With the same concept as the first slide on our list, Scorpion’s Tail comes with a twist, pun not intended. Dropping down from 10 stories-high at 50 feet per second, this, along with the lubricated walls, gives you enough speed to pass through the loop at the bottom. Yes that’s right, a loop.
3. Aqualoop - Gold Coast, Australia
This time, you can share this frightening experience with three of your friends and race to victory at a speedy 60 kilometers an hour.
2. Mammoth – Santa Claus, United States
Conveying you up a 7 story-high hill in a six person tube, this is the world’s longest waterslide at 1/3 miles long and 3 acres large. As you’re constantly turning in every direction, you’ll never know what way you’ll go down their dozens of slides.
1. L2 – Wörgl, Austria
In case you’re wondering, L2 means double loop. Beginning the ride with a dropdown, you’re hurdling 14 meters towards the first loop at 65 kilometers an hour and then doing it again. It’s a big rush that’s done in only a matter of seconds.
Fun fact: Every human being starts out as an asshole: it’s the first part of the body to form in the womb.
