1983 NCAA D2 3000m Steeplechase

NCAA Division 2 Track & Field hall of famer Mike Vanatta wins the second of his three consecutive national championships in the best Steeplechase in D2 championship history. The top four finishers smashed the year-old national meet record and the top three were separated by barely over a second. The three podium finishers would combine for eight national championships in track and cross country, and Vanatta's national meet record would stand for 24 years.
