2016 New Mexico Archery Elk Hunt with Randy Newberg & Corey Jacobsen, Day 6

Randy Newberg and Corey Jacobsen are in western New Mexico archery hunting elk in late September. This public land hunt takes place during a full moon phase, putting Corey's World Champion calling skills to the test. If ten miles per day is not getting you and elk, try fifteen miles. On Day 6, Corey convinces Randy that the far distant ridges must have some elk. Somethings sound better in theory than they do in practical application. Trying to out-hike elk is one of those examples. Some encounters are had, but thick Pinion Juniper restrict shooting lanes as well as filming lanes. Temps of 85F have the elk bedded and silent, even with a world champion elk caller at the helm. This is the longer day-by-day version of the hunt, showing many parts and information that get cut to meet the abbreviated time constraints of TV.
