5 Taboo, Weird, or Illegal Things in America That Are Normal in Germany

Comparing America and Germany is always fun. This video puts a broad focus on some random things I noticed that are taboo, weird, or illegal in America, that didn't seem to be a big deal (normal) while I was in Germany. Yes, those three things (Taboo, Weird, and Illegal) are brutally vague and could cover almost any topic. With that being said, "5 Random Comparisons between Germany and America that roughly relate under a cogent theme" is perhaps a more accurate title. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be as catchy. What happened was, I started writing a list of things that would are taboo in America but normal in Germany and I didn't realize that as the list grew, it got more and more off a central topic. Regardless, I believe the content the video does cover is at least somewhat interesting. I hope you enjoyed the video! No, on its own, "Drinking Age" is not something that is illegal or taboo in America. Where the comparison is drawn, and I should have said this in the video, is that drinking at such a "young" age is both illegal and taboo in America. Footnotes: *1) I misspoke here by using the verbiage, "More of a market." I had meant to say, "More of 'just' a market," as to express that there is not even remotely as much historic cultural significance assigned to American beer and America, as there is with German beer and Germany. *2) Here is a link to the Wikipedia page that explains these laws better.
