The Venice Neighborhood Council (VNC) Ad Hoc Safety Committee met on THURSDAY MAY 31, 2012 AT 8:00 A.M. at The Talking Stick, Corner of Lincoln Blvd., and California, Venice, CA to discuss a motion presented by Mark Ryavec, president of Venice Stakeholders Assoc., calling for consistent enforcement of codes governing public-right-of-ways and City Parks. The motion, written by VSA's attorney John Henning, cites five codes that they believe are not being regularly enforced on the streets of Venice. Venice residents, both for and against the motion voiced their opinions. Ex-VNC president, Dede Audet (R) stated that this situation demonstrates a breakdown of society and it should be dealt with at a state level. But, Ryavec, one-time contender for VP position on VNC - and possible future candidate for President of VNC - insists that the police are not doing their job.
