60 Second English: Great Expectations Characters

*Optional English Subtitles Available* My recap of SOME of the characters in great expectations because there's a lot and its complicated. If you want to know in more detail then got to litcharts.com ~green Script: There’s way too many characters to fit into 60 seconds but some of the main ones include: The Protagonist Phillip Pirrip or ‘Pip’ who grew up in a forge but went on to become a gentleman of ‘Great Expectations’. He lives with his older Sister Mrs Joe Gargery and her husband Joe Gargery because the rest of Pip’s family is dead. Mrs Joe beats Pip and Joe until she is attacked by Orlick, who works with Joe in the forge. Joe is a lovely, kind-hearted and moral man who sticks with Pip all the way through the novel. Miss Havisham is the jilted bride who lives in Satis house and hasn’t changed out of her wedding dress since the fateful day decades before. She has an adopted daughter who is Pip’s age and love interest, the cold and beautiful Estella. Estella’s father is Magwitch who is an escaped convict that Pip helps at the start of the novel and her mother is Molly. Molly is the maid of Jaggers who is the lawyer to Pip and Miss Havisham. Compeyson forced Magwitch and Molly to work with him, he was the one who jilted Miss Havisham and eventually turns Magwitch in. Jaggers works with a man called Wemmick whom Pip is friends with but Wemmick is strict that they don’t remain friends in the office. He is also friends with his roommate Herbert.
