9-16-13 Ram 2500 Cummins 6BT trans governor swap 47RH

The final piece of the puzzle on my engine swap. What a difference! The 94 and 95 model year Ram trucks used the 47RH (aka A618) transmission which is a hydraulically controlled 4 speed automatic. The later models became electronic and the computer managed the shifting. On my transmission the shift points are managed by a mechanical centrifugal governor assembly on the output shaft. The gas and diesel engines have different rev limits and therefore different governor weights. My original V10 transmission is essentially the same unit for a diesel the difference in the converter and the governor. With the gas governor the engine would hit redline way before the gas shift point would allow the trans to shift. The governor needed to be changed for the correct part but finding one was a massive challenge as Mopar no longer makes them. Anyhow I found one from a core supplier and now trans (and myself) are happy... Thanks for watching!
