From the Skvader, to the possible true sighting of Bigfoot, these are 9 Photos of Cryptids EXPLAINED ! Mongolian Death Worm -- This is a cryptid found in the Gobi Desert, and is described as up to 7 feet long, with the ability to generate electrical blasts and spit out an acidic yellow saliva so toxic that it kills prey instantly. That’s the cryptid. What you’re looking at is actually a Mexican Mole Lizard. It’s one of four species of amphisbaenians (am-phis-bean-ee-uns) that have legs, and is sometimes confused with the axolotl (ax-a-lot-ul). That’s understandable … But to confuse this creature with the deadly Mongolian Death Worm? Well, some theories speculate the death worm could possibly be a new species of amphisbaenians, or a worm lizard like this, which can burrow into the ground … as the Death Worm is claimed to do. And a research expedition in the Gobi searching for evidence of the creature in 2005 came to a similar conclusion … but it might take a while to convince the scientific community. Abominable Snowman -- We featured the Yeti recently in “10 Asian Cryptids Explained”, but we didn’t get a chance to share this story with you. In 2013, an 11-year-old boy in Siberia used his phone to shoot video of the alleged monster. The boy was with two of his friends in the woods when they noticed huge tracks in the snow. Following the tracks, and filming as they proceeded, they got closer to the bushes when they suddenly saw the Yeti, about 50 meters away. It moved suddenly, and that sent the boys scattering … but the 11-year-old kept filming the whole time. As is the case with many such videos, it’s very blurry ...The monster is seen through trees, making it more difficult to gather details. But according to one expert, the video records the best ever sighting of a Yeti in Russia … and proves the creatures still exist in Siberia. Would you agree … or is it an abominable snow job? Ukrainian Chupacabra? -- These cryptids seem to pop up all the time … and more often than not, they turn out to be some sort of hairless raccoon. Spanish for ‘goat-sucker’, Chupacabras were first purportedly sighted in Puerto Rico in 1995. But this creature turned up in a remote part of Ukraine in 2012. Locals claim the creature had been sighted a few times in recent years, and drained the blood of goats, rabbits and house animals. Looking at the pictures, it almost resembles a small kangaroo, and witnesses have mentioned the mystery creature has the ability to jump like a roo. Some experts who examined the creature thought it had something in common with a fox or a dog, or even a marten … that’s an agile animal related to badgers and weasels. But still, a positive identification could not be made. One interesting opinion stated the animal is likely a mutant, or some sort of hybrid. If it really is a chupacabra, this cryptid made quite a jaunt from its native North and South America all the way to Central Asia! What do you think? Roughly one-third of Bigfoot sightings occur in the Pacific Northwest. This time however, the legendary sasquatch was supposedly sighted in Pennsylvania. In 2013, a hiker named John Stoneman claimed to spot two 7-foot tall ape-like monsters in Kinzua (kin-zoo-uh) State Park near Bradford, just a few yards from a main road. Stoneman took pictures of the alleged beast which went viral online and were published when the story ran in the Daily Mail. Stoneman claimed he was returning with his girlfriend from a fall festival when they saw a strange shape moving in the forest. He took pictures as their car slowed and edged along the road. He dismissed claims that it could be a black bear or a large root ball at the bottom of tree. That kind of leads into a counterclaim made about the photos. A tipster to HuffPost Weird News claimed Stoneman was either lying or was confused ...because the object in the picture is actually a tree stump that well drillers uprooted.. To back up his claim, the tipster provided a photo of the supposed monster, but taken at a different angle. You can compare the Tipster’s picture here: Tipster’s Photo So take a good look … does the creature look like Bigfoot? Could it be a tree stump or something else?
