Umshangpung in the ouskirts of Jowai in the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, India, is an agricultural Village. The paddy fields wear a different hue during the month of July, a month which also host the annual Behdienkhlam Festival of the Jaintias. It was just apt for a feast, so we indulged ourselves into the unique culinary style of the Jaintias, and wound up the day refreshing ourselves at the Aitnar or the sacred ground of the Festival.
