A leisurely look at the classic Sony TC-765 Reel to Reel Tape Recorder

Thanks to a very generous donation I temporarily have a classic Sony Reel to Reel in the house. Before I pass this on to a friend, I’m checking it out to see what works and what needs work. The power button was straightened out after making the video - I didn’t notice it was wonky until someone pointed this out on Patreon. I also spotted a slight imbalance on the zero rest position on the VU needles - so adjusted this using a screw driver in the holes provided for this purpose below each meter. In some shots it shows correctly as the video was shot out of sequence. I won’t be doing any repair work on this machine. I’m just the intermediary - this is a project for a friend. It’s currently in storage until it can be delivered.
