Here are the lyrics to 'A Sweeter Song' -
Tonight you were in my dreams
Beautiful and by my side
We laughed in the sun
We shone like the stars so bright
It seemed like I knew you forever
Like childhood lovers grown
Wonder why I never told you
and why you had never known
There's a sweeter song for us
(That no one could ever compare)
There's a sweeter song for us
(And love will take me there)
In the morning when I woke
Your face etched inside my mind
You were still so beautiful
But distant as Southern Skies
Don't know what the future holds
Or if the world will be lasting long
But this one thing I know
This patience will not go wrong
There's a sweeter song for us
(That no one could ever compare)
There's a sweeter song for us
The deserts will meet the oceans
The sun will rise in the west
Birds will crawl and fish will fly
And I'll be in your arms again
Flowers will start to bloom
In the clear blue sky
Rain will start falling up
And we'll never be saying goodbye
Till forever has ended
Till my Maker has come through
You'll be just a dream
A dream that will never come true"
About Melodie:
Melodie started playing the piano at the tender age of 4. She wrote what she calls her 'first real' song at the age of 14. She has come a long way since then. She recently performed at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The talented songstress aims to fortify her passion in singing and songwriting by pursuing a degree in music in Melbourne, Australia. Although classically trained in both voice and piano, Melodie has traversed many genres, from musical theatre to pop and jazz. For At the Concourse -- Originals Only, Melodie will perform her latest works - an interesting combination of pop, folk and jazz.
Having grown up with music as a friend, Melodie understands the power that music and lyrics can have upon the heart, soul and mind. This bubbly girl-next-door hopes that the songs she writes will bring joy, love and healing to the lives of those who hear them, whoever they may be.
