This comic dares us to ask many questions... like why hasn't anybody arrested the Kool-Aid Man? Originally uploaded September 28th, 2009. RUMINATIONS: I really need to do more issues of this. My utter confusion about the existence of this comic is kind of laughable nowadays with all the stuff that's far, FAR worse than this... and yet the idea of the Kool-Aid Man having his own comic series is still one of those absurd "What-the-hell?!" kind of things and I still make reference to this episode whenever I make the "...Because the Kool-Aid Man is red" jokes. If this episode looks a little different than normal, it's because this was actually the first episode I filmed in wide-screen. I had received a new widescreen digital camera for my birthday that used files instead of tapes (proclaiming to be in HD, buuut JVC cameras are a bit iffy if they actually ARE HD or not). I was sick and tired of all the troubles I had been having lately both for needing to buy more tapes for the old camera as well as just the frustration of the transfer speeds (tapes needed to be transferred in real time). As such, I was eager to start filming with it. I kept it 640x480 at first, though, just zooming in to crop the edges. Why? For two reasons: one, I had already planned the opening gag of the Maximum Clonage review to be talking about how I was in widescreen in honor of the anniversary and two, the conclusion of the Silent Hill episodes I had actually filmed six months in advance (I was really that enthusiastic about it) and obviously that was still in SD, so I couldn't just switch it from widescreen and back again, so all the videos had to be 640x480. This episode is also infamous for my lack of understanding of how liquid works in the vacuum of space - that it would boil and evaporate instead of freezing. I got ENDLESS comments on it, rivaled only by a simple joke about Schroedinger's Cat that became the comment apocalypse as people corrected me on something that wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. I think my point still stands regardless of what happens to the Kool-Aid Man's juices - he should not be fine just walking around in outer space.
