Alena Couldn't Send Her Friend Gizmo to Slaughter

When Alena realized she couldnt have her pig Gizmo slaughtered in the traditional FFA tradition, she associated and connected with her beloved friend and found refuge for him and her entire family at Rowdy Girl Sanctuary. Alena, her mom and sister are now all vegan as a result of this experience. Loving Gizmo, a "food animal", changed her and her families life forever. When families are faced with the normalized violence of animal agriculture in our food system, some are unable to follow through with sending their beloved animals to slaughter. As a result we created the Families Choosing Compassion Program where families can learn to love and care for their friend until the day he naturally dies instead of sending them to the kill floor for money.
