All New 2016 Mazda 6 Facelift US Spec Exterior Details

Mazda is making headlines at the 2014 Los Angeles International Auto Show by unveiling four new models. This also includes the stunning updated Mazda 6 flagship alongside the new CX-3, the fourth generation MX-5 and the mildly upgraded CX-5. Like the CX-5 facelift, there is nothing to mention about the changes of the Mazda 6 D-segment sedan but the most notable changes occurs in front of the car. There is a reworked three-dimensional grille, flanked by new headlights. Other highlights include tweaked taillights, a shark fin antenna and two tone finished alloy wheels. Two new exterior colours are added in the 2015 Mazda 6 (2016 for US models), Sonic Silver Metallic and Titanium Flash Mica. Inside, as expected, from the leaked brochures, the cabin appears to be more luxurious and upmarket than the pre-facelift model, thanks to the new dashboard and a floating seven-inch infotainment screen that runs the marque’s latest MZD Connect system. Just like the updated 2015 CX-5, the flagship sedan gains an electric handbrake system which helps to free up space in the center console. Other features include powered rear sunshade (sedan only), a heads-up display as well as better materials and trims. The Japanese marque mentions that there are extra efforts being made minimize the gaps between the interior panels of the new 6 to improve the luxurious feel of the cabin. The NVH levels has been reduced by 10 percent on rough roads and 25 percent on highways through the application of extra sound insulation. Safety-wise, the Mazda 6 benefits from two new i-ACTIVSENSE safety functions – Lane-keep Assist System and Driver Attention Alert. The former assists the car to stay within its lane, while the latter alerts the driver should it sense that the driver is fatigued. Mazda did not mentioned about the engine changes so it is likely that all engines offered internationally are carried over from the previous model. The engine line-up are as follows, A 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G petrol with 160 PS (121 kW) and 208 Nm of torque A 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G petrol with 165 PS (121 kW) and 210 Nm of torque A 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G petrol with 192 PS (141 kW) and 256 Nm of torque A 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D diesel with 150 PS (110 kW) and 380 Nm of torque A 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D diesel with 175 PS (129 kW) and 420 Nm of torque In the US, power outputs are slightly different from international markets.
