ALL SPORTS BAND ❖ opposites do attract 【HQ】

This minor AOR band, and labelmates of the Hellcats, released one album and one single in the early 80s before disappearing from sight with the same minimal impact they had enjoyed during their brief career. Featuring a line-up of Michael John Toste (vocals), Cy Sulack (guitars), The Boxer (drums), Alfonso Carey (bass) and Chuck Kentis (keyboards), the self-titled debut album sat at the most lightweight end of the AOR spectrum, pop-orientated songs comparable to the lightest moments of Toto or Ambrosia. The songs were well crafted, but the poppy production from Joey Carbone and Ritchie Zito failed to endow them with the rock credentials that might have increased sales. The following year the band recorded a single, a cover version of 'Young Girl'. Unsurprisingly, this was not successful either and the band broke up. Only keyboard player Chuck Kentis has resurfaced, playing with (among others) Cher and on John Waite's 1995 album.
